Anthropic adds workplace tools like Asana, Slack to Claude
Anthropic has announced that users can now interact with various work tools directly within Claude, its AI assistant, starting January 26, 2026.
The update allows users to access tools such as Asana, Figma, Slack, and others within conversations, enabling real-time collaboration and task management without switching platforms.
For example, users can build project timelines in Asana, generate diagrams in Figma, search files in Box, and draft messages in Slack.
The integration also includes analytics, data visualization, and content creation features.
The company plans to expand this functionality with upcoming features, including integration with Salesforce’s Agentforce 360 for enterprise collaboration.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
The impact of this “open standard” depends on adoption beyond Claude
- MCP Apps has been presented as a standard that any compatible AI product can use, yet the underlying specification remains in “Draft” status 1.
- The official SDK (software development kit) for MCP Apps has not included a supported host implementation beyond an examples/basic-host reference implementation, which is needed to embed these interactive UIs (user interfaces) into other AI clients (the apps where users chat with an AI assistant) 2.
- Which AI clients besides Claude support MCP Apps, or have public roadmaps to support it, still needs to be confirmed, since discoverability of client capabilities has been called out as a documentation gap 3.
Developers can capture value by building the next wave of interactive tools
- Developers and systems integrators have an opening to build on MCP Apps. Launch partners include Asana and Figma, while curated directories list many MCP servers for tools that may not yet have interactive UIs, such as Notion (a workplace docs and wiki tool), Snowflake (a cloud data warehouse), and Sentry (an app error monitoring service) 4.
- That leaves a near-term chance to use the MCP Apps SDK to add UI layers to these widely used enterprise tools 2.
- Builders can focus on software types listed in curated server directories such as data analytics, security, or marketing automation, then fill integration gaps left by the initial launch partners 4.
