Ant International weighs $1b funding round: report
People familiar with the matter said Ant International is considering raising US$1 billion in a funding round that could value the business at US$10 billion or more.
The move could also support preparations for a Hong Kong listing as soon as this year.
The unit has approached investors including existing shareholders General Atlantic and Silver Lake. No final decision has been made.
Ant International is the overseas arm of Ant Group, the China-based fintech company backed by Jack Ma.
It supports cross-border digital payments and merchant services.
The business generated US$3 billion in revenue in 2024. Revenue grew about 25% in 2025.
Its Alipay+ network had connected 88 million merchants worldwide as of June, the company said.
The fundraising would revive listing plans after Chinese regulators halted Ant Group’s initial public offering in 2020.
In March 2024, the parent reorganized Ant International into an independently operated business unit with its own board. The move was seen as paving the way for a future spin-off.
