Ant International raises $1.2b in series A
Ant International, a Singapore- and Shanghai-based digital payments and financial technology company, said on July 21 that it closed about US$1.2 billion in series A equity financing.
The round included existing investors Ant Group and Alibaba Group, as well as other international investors, the company said.
Ant International said it began operating independently in 2024 and runs businesses across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.
It said its network, spanning Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst, and Bettr, connects more than 150 million merchants to over 2 billion user accounts.
The company became one of three independently run Ant business units with its own board in March 2024.
As it expands, Ant International has also secured approval in principle in the United Arab Emirates for two payment licenses, though full operating licenses are still pending.
