Ant International, Mastercard, Visa develop AI agent framework
Ant International, a Singapore-headquartered fintech company, said on September 10 that it had started working with Mastercard and Visa on a Know-Your-Agent framework.
The framework aims to streamline how card networks, digital-wallet ecosystems, agent platforms, and marketplaces onboard and identify AI agents using shared trust signals.
Each network would retain its own verification and decision-making processes.
The companies said the effort builds on existing protocols, including Mastercard Verifiable Intent, Visa’s Trusted Agent Protocol, and Ant International’s Agentic Mobile Protocol. It will focus on operator traceability, shared certification requirements, and continuous transaction monitoring to reduce duplicate onboarding and identity checks.
The companies also plan to advance the approach through BuildFin.ai, part of the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Financial AI Builder Program.
The effort comes as the Monetary Authority of Singapore has moved to develop safeguards for AI agents in finance.
