Ant Group said it upgraded Haodf for Doctor into AQ for Doctor and integrated it with its AQ health app on August 12.

The new platform adds AI tools for online consultations, patient management, clinical decision support, and medical research.

It also opens the service to hospitals and healthcare institutions nationwide to run online hospital operations. Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center is the first hospital to join under the new model.

The move builds on Haodf.com, a medical consultation and appointment platform founded in 2006.

AQ was launched as a standalone app in June 2025, building on Alipay healthcare services that had reached nearly 800 million users in China.

Those services also included AI features such as doctor recommendations and medical report analysis.

The upgrade expands Ant’s push into a crowded market that includes JD Health, Ping An, and Tencent.

In China, regulations generally limit AI to an auxiliary role. Some clinical software is treated as Class III devices, and AI cannot generate prescriptions.
