Ant Group unit, Damon Technology partner on warehouse AI

Damon Technology, a China-based logistics automation company, said it had entered a partnership with Ant Lingbo, an embodied intelligence unit of Ant Group, to develop industrial uses of physical AI.

The companies plan to combine embodied AI model technology with logistics engineering and jointly validate and deploy the technology in real warehouse operations, Damon Technology said.

Ant Group’s unit has previously claimed a breakthrough in robot sensing aimed at reducing collisions with glass doors and partitions, suggesting a focus on perception in real-world robotic environments.

The partnership comes as researchers have framed embodied AI as part of China’s push for more capable AI systems in the physical world, while policy analysis has shown support from China’s central government for embodied intelligence and advanced robotics.
