Ant Group rolls out LingGuang 2.0 with proactive AI features
Ant Group, the China-based fintech company behind Alipay, said on October 27 that LingGuang 2.0 is rolling out in China on iOS, Android, and the web.
The company said the upgraded AI assistant can identify user needs and follow up on tasks with explicit user authorization.
Ant said LingGuang can use Alipay data to flag potentially forgotten auto-renewing subscriptions and review spending patterns. It can also track prices after users book flights or hotels, and connect with email, work apps, and smart home services.
The company said LingGuang 2.0 includes upgrades to cross-session memory and long-term task scheduling.
Ant added that its APASS security system lets users grant, adjust, or revoke authorization, while the agent executes tasks without directly accessing user credentials.
The original LingGuang was launched in November 2025 as an assistant that Ant said could build simple apps in 30 seconds.
The update comes as scrutiny of AI agents in China grows and Tencent tests a WeChat assistant.
