Ant Group launches AI assistant that generates apps in 30 seconds
Ant Group has launched LingGuang, a multimodal AI assistant that generates code-driven outputs, marking what the company says is a first for China.
The Hangzhou-based fintech firm said LingGuang can handle language, images, voice, and data, providing responses through 3D models, audio, charts, animations, maps, and instant apps, in addition to standard text.
LingGuang can build and instantly run custom flash apps directly within the conversation in as little as 30 seconds.
The assistant’s features include the ability to quickly generate custom “flash” apps and analyze images or video footage in real time.
Users can interact with LingGuang for research, visualizations, and app creation by using natural language prompts.
LingGuang is now available on the Apple App Store and major Android app stores.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Third-party developers could monetize LingGuang’s flash app ecosystem if Ant opens a developer marketplace
- An SDK could let teams build on LingGuang’s flash app generator. SaaS (Software as a Service) vendors can sell templates, hosting, analytics, and compliance tools, similar to Shopify’s app store.
- LingGuang already works with Alipay login 3. Placement inside the app, Ant Group’s mobile payments platform, could extend reach for developer plugins across event planning, financial calculators, or inventory tools.
- Product, platform, and partnerships teams should watch for news on the plugin framework. They should also track distribution paths and revenue sharing rules. Ant’s InclusionAI team 4, its internal AI research group, is hiring multimodal algorithm experts and stresses openness in the AI strategy 2.
