Ant Group denies IPO rumors
Ant Group, a financial services affiliate of Alibaba, has denied speculation about reviving its IPO.
The company confirmed that it has no immediate plans to go public.
This clarification follows the cancellation of Ant’s planned US$39.7 billion IPO in late 2020 due to regulatory issues.
Speculation about an IPO revival intensified after comments by Jack Ma, the founder of Ant, during the 20th-anniversary event of Alipay.
His positive remarks about the company’s future led some to interpret them as a signal for a possible IPO restart.
