Daimeng Robotics, a Hong Kong-based tactile-sensing robotics startup, said on August 11 that it had completed a series A round worth several hundred million yuan.

The company said Ant Group led the round, while existing shareholders made follow-on investments. Daimeng also said it is expanding from tactile-perception devices into data infrastructure and model deployment.

Founded in late 2023, Daimeng focuses on robot fingertip sensing. Prof. Michael Yu Wang is its co-founder and chief scientist.

Daimeng said it has shipped visual-tactile sensors in the tens of thousands. It has previously said its devices are used by academic and research institutes and leading humanoid robotics companies, with partners including Google DeepMind and China Mobile.

The investment comes as Ant has expanded in robotics through Robbyant, an embodied AI unit set up in late 2024 that has begun seeking external funding.
