Animoca Brands, blockchain firm Rayls partner on asset tokenization
Animoca Brands has signed a memorandum of understanding with Rayls to collaborate on the tokenization of real-world assets.
Rayls, developed by Parfin, provides blockchain infrastructure aimed at connecting traditional finance with decentralized finance.
Under the agreement, Animoca Brands will help identify asset classes and issuers for tokenization using Rayls’ technology.
The companies expect to use NUVA, a chain-agnostic vault marketplace, for distributing tokenized assets created on Rayls’ platform.
Rayls will supply NUVA with assets, technology, and settlement infrastructure, including cross-chain bridge solutions and privacy features.
Financial terms and a launch timeline have not been disclosed.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Regulatory and technical readiness decide whether the MOU leads to deployment
- Rayls is in production with Núclea (a Brazilian financial market infrastructure and payments provider) 1. It also joined the Central Bank of Brazil’s Drex pilot, Brazil’s Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) program 1. Public sources do not confirm NUVA’s regulatory approvals, live issuances, or integrations.
- Kinexys, a bank-led testing program, selected Rayls through J.P. Morgan’s Project EPIC 2. Parfin holds the ABcripto Compliance Seal from Brazil’s crypto industry association 3. Their credentials cover Brazil, while cross-border licensing for asset tokenization stays unverified.
- NUVA’s chain-agnostic vault marketplace has no public proof of operation with distribution partners or custody solutions, so near-term value for institutional Real-World Assets (RWA) distribution stays unproven.
Third-party infrastructure can focus on jurisdictions where Rayls and peers have traction
- Brazil’s Drex CBDC project and the Lift Challenge, the Central Bank of Brazil’s innovation program, set the pace 3. Parfin works with Banco BV 1, so Know Your Customer/Anti-Money Laundering (KYC/AML) vendors should focus on Brazilian banks that adopt permissioned blockchain infrastructure.
- Private credit tokenization reached $18.7 billion as of Oct 31, 2025, and U.S. Treasuries hit $8.8 billion on the same date 4. Custody, bridge, and audit firms can target platforms like Rayls that serve institutional issuers.
- Rayls works with Project EPIC on privacy and identity 2. Providers with modular KYC attestation or cross-chain privacy can pitch partnerships to enterprise blockchain platforms.
