AMD has launched its latest artificial intelligence chip, the Instinct MI325X, to directly compete with Nvidia’s data center graphics processing units (GPUs).

Announced at a recent event, production is expected to begin before the end of 2024.

This move comes in response to increasing demand for AI processing power, particularly for models like ChatGPT that require substantial GPU resources.

The AI chip market is anticipated to expand significantly, potentially reaching US$500 billion by 2028.
