AMD, Delhi University to train 10,000 in AI tech
AMD and the University of Delhi said they signed a memorandum of understanding to train about 10,000 students in AI and semiconductor technologies over the next year through AMD’s AI Engage Developer Program.
The program will give students and faculty access to AMD’s ROCm open-source AI software platform, technical workshops, learning materials.
It will also provide developer graphics processing unit cloud credits to build, test, and deploy AI applications.
AMD said the partnership aims to give students early access to AI development tools.
The University of Delhi said the deal reflects an industry push to equip graduates with practical AI skills beyond classroom learning.
The agreement comes as India pursues semiconductor workforce development through SEMICON India.
A 2026 government release said the country plans to build semiconductor talent for the AI era.
