Amazon Web Services (AWS) has named Sriram Santhanam as its new head of startup business for India.

Santhanam will be responsible for leading AWS’s startup strategy in the country, focusing on cloud adoption and partnerships with founders and venture-backed firms.

He has over 25 years of experience in B2B sales and has held leadership roles at AWS for the past four years, including overseeing the independent software vendor business.

AWS said the appointment is part of its efforts to strengthen its work with India’s startup sector, which has more than 157,000 government-recognized startups and over 123 unicorns.

Santhanam’s role will include supporting startups in areas such as platform resilience, security, and go-to-market strategies.
