Amazon unveiled an upgraded AI warehouse robot in Dartford, England, on June 4 as part of a 10 billion euros ($11.6 billion) investment in its European fulfilment network.

The company also plans to launch more than 25 sub-same-day delivery sites across Europe this year.

The new Proteus robot will arrive in Europe in the first half of 2027. Amazon said it can move across warehouse floors and respond to conversational prompts.

The current Proteus operates only in dock areas at 25 sites in the US.

Amazon said same-day delivery for fresh groceries is now available in more than 2,300 cities in the US and parts of Tokyo, with further expansion planned in Japan, the UK, and other countries in the coming months.
