Amazon targets 2026 launch for Kuiper satellite internet

Amazon expects its Project Kuiper satellite internet service to be available in the US, Canada, France, Germany, and the UK by the end of Q1 2026.

The company plans to have over 200 Kuiper satellites in low-Earth orbit by the end of 2025 and eventually deploy more than 3,200 satellites for global connectivity.

Coverage will expand toward the equator by 2027, with full global coverage in 88 to 100 countries by 2028.

Project Kuiper is Amazon’s effort to compete with Starlink in the satellite internet market.

JetBlue Airways is the first airline to announce it will use Kuiper satellites for onboard Wi-Fi, with service expected in 2027.

Amazon has launched four Kuiper satellite batches so far after earlier delays and plans another launch this month.
