Amazon seeks $10b in record Canada bond offering
Amazon is set to raise C$14 billion (US$10 billion), through a five-part Canadian-dollar bond sale.
The deal would be the largest corporate offering on record in that market.
An Amazon representative said the proceeds would be used for general corporate purposes, including business investments, capital spending, and debt repayment.
The deal follows Alphabet’s C$8.5 billion (US$6.1 billion) Canadian-dollar sale about a month ago, which set the previous record.
It also extends a funding streak that has seen Amazon raise more than US$70 billion in debt since the start of 2025 as US hyperscalers seek funding for AI infrastructure.
Moody’s recently revised Amazon’s outlook to positive while affirming its A1 senior unsecured ratings.
Moody’s cited improved operating performance, strong free cash flow.
The agency also noted Amazon’s healthy balance sheet despite rising capital spending.
