Amazon has canceled its plans to launch drone deliveries in Italy, citing regulatory challenges.

The company said it made progress with Italian aerospace regulators but found the country’s broader business regulations unsuitable for its long-term program goals.

Amazon announced the successful completion of initial drone delivery tests in San Salvo, Abruzzo, in December 2024.
