Amazon Now reaches $1b annualized sales in India
Amazon said its quick-commerce service Amazon Now has reached US$1 billion in annualised gross sales in India in the past three months, with orders doubling every quarter since launch.
The rollout began with a Bengaluru pilot in late 2024, and Amazon formally launched the service in selected Bengaluru pin codes in June 2025. It now covers more than 60 cities through over 750 micro-fulfilment and urban fulfilment centers.
Amazon also said it plans more than 100 larger urban sites to widen product selection and deliver in minutes.
The milestone comes as India’s quick-commerce market grows.
Research firm RedSeer estimated the segment made up about 17% of India’s online retail in FY26, while Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart lead the category.
The expansion also faces regulatory pressure. India’s ecommerce rules restrict foreign-owned platforms from holding inventory directly for local sales, and regulators have tightened food-labeling and traceability requirements for online sellers.
