Amazon lays off 200 workers
Amazon has confirmed layoffs impacting around 200 employees in its North American stores division, which affected roles span areas such as fashion and fitness.
The stores division includes private label brands, the Prime membership program, and the consumables business.
The layoffs are part of Amazon’s broader cost-cutting efforts under CEO Andy Jassy, which have resulted in 27,000 job cuts since 2022.
These reductions also include shutting down unprofitable ventures like its telehealth program and clothing try-on service.
