Amazon launches updated AI tool for business users

Amazon has launched Quick Suite, an updated AI tool for business users, through its cloud division Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The new suite includes a chatbot and AI agents that can analyze sales data, generate reports, and summarize online content.

It is priced at US$20 per user per month and can integrate with tools such as Slack, Salesforce, Microsoft file storage, and Adobe products.

Quick Suite is offered as an upgrade for current users of Q Business, Amazon’s earlier AI software.

AWS said the product recently became available to Amazon employees and will target sales, ad, analysis, and business operations roles.

Major tech firms are releasing similar business AI tools, with Google launching Gemini Enterprise at US$30 per user per month, and Microsoft moving paid Copilot subscribers to a new Office tier.

Unlike Google and Microsoft, AWS is less familiar to most office workers, as its main products have served IT departments and developers rather than end users.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Quick Suite’s $20 pricing lacks the clarity enterprises need to compare it with Microsoft and Google

  • Amazon’s $20/user/month Professional tier includes chat agents, Quick Research, and Quick Flows, but enterprise buyers need transparency on foundational details absent from the announcement: which foundation models are available, usage caps on agent hours (Professional plans include a monthly allowance, with overages at $3-6 per agent hour), and whether data stays isolated within customer AWS accounts or flows through shared infrastructure 1.
  • The infrastructure fee—a flat $250/month per account—adds complexity that Microsoft’s $30 Copilot and Google’s $30 Gemini Enterprise don’t impose, and without clear guidance on Quick Index storage costs (50MB free, then $1/MB/month for approximately 5,000 additional documents) or multimedia processing fees, IT leaders can’t accurately model total cost of ownership 12.
  • Migration from Q Business to Quick Suite remains unaddressed: customers using the 18-month-old Q Business must understand whether existing integrations, custom agents, and user configurations transfer seamlessly or require rebuilding, a critical factor for enterprises with deployed AI workflows.

AWS’s entry creates an opening for vendors selling cross-assistant governance and audit tools

  • With AWS joining Microsoft and Google in the enterprise AI assistant market, large organizations will inevitably run multiple AI tools across departments—Quick Suite for operations teams, Copilot for Office users, Gemini Enterprise for Google Workspace customers—creating fragmented visibility into sensitive data exposure and policy enforcement 34.
  • Security vendors and system integrators can build platforms that sit above these assistants to provide unified data loss prevention, manage browser plugin permissions across Quick Suite and competitors, and centralize audit logs from diverse AI tools into single dashboards that track prompt patterns and data movement 35.
  • The shift from blocking AI tools entirely to managing them securely—as one U.S. retailer did by combining Proofpoint with secure web gateways rather than blanket bans—signals demand for solutions that enforce acceptable use policies while preserving productivity, particularly as Quick Suite’s browser plugin follows users across the internet 6.
