Amazon launches 15-minute delivery in UAE

Amazon has launched its fastest delivery service in the UAE, offering 15-minute delivery for everyday essentials through Amazon Now.

The company operates micro-fulfillment centers in major UAE neighborhoods to enable quicker deliveries of products like groceries, electronics, and personal care items.

A new 2-hour delivery option is also available for thousands of products across over 30 categories on Amazon.ae.

Prime members receive free Amazon Now delivery on orders above AED 25 (US$6.81) and free 2-hour delivery on orders above AED 100 (US$27), with fees applying to smaller orders.

Amazon Now and the 2-hour delivery service are currently available in locations including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain, with plans to expand further.

Users can access Amazon Now through the Amazon app or website.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Amazon’s 15-minute promise meets a crowded UAE quick-commerce scene

  • The UAE quick-commerce market hit USD 185.82 million in 2024 1. Talabat with InstaShop, plus Noon Minutes with Careem Quik, match these speeds 1. Amazon Now enters a space where 44% of orders land within 11–30 minutes, while sub-10-minute runs grow 5.9% a year 1.
  • Rivals built dark stores (small warehouses not open to the public) across Dubai and Abu Dhabi 1. Amazon is adding micro-fulfillment sites. Amazon has not detailed assortment depth or pricing versus incumbents in a country where expatriates exceed 80% of residents 1.
  • Amazon’s edge sits in its delivery network and its Prime base 2. The market grows at 8.74% CAGR, so speed alone will not lock in share 2.

Sellers on Amazon.ae should weigh Amazon Now eligibility against complexity

  • Sellers lack clarity on whether Amazon Now takes third-party stock via Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) or relies on Amazon-owned inventory 3. FBA in the UAE offers one-day Prime shipping, yet sellers cannot set same-day delivery 3.
  • If Amazon opens Get it Today to FBA sellers that place at micro-fulfillment sites, brands could lift conversion 4. Seventy-seven percent of customers worldwide expect fulfillment within two hours 4. Ask Amazon Seller Support about eligibility, required volumes, and whether the 2-hour service across 30 plus categories takes third-party goods.
  • 3PL and SaaS providers can build tools that guide inventory across Amazon’s network 1. Prioritize high-velocity SKUs near urban clusters in Dubai, which accounts for 59% of UAE quick-commerce, and Abu Dhabi 1. The market could reach USD 363.11 million by 2032 2.
