Amazon is slashing hundreds of jobs at its Prime Video and MGM Studios units, aiming to refocus investment towards creating content with bigger impact. The move follows recent layoffs in its Twitch, Alexa, and music divisions.

Other streaming businesses including Disney, Paramount, and Warner Bros. are also cutting costs.
