Amazon’s head of its artificial general intelligence (AGI) lab, David Luan, announced his departure after less than two years at the company.

Luan joined Amazon through an acqui-hire deal of his startup Adept, which included licensing some of its AI models and datasets.

He said he plans to leave to pursue new projects.

Amazon reorganized its AGI division late last year, placing it under senior vice president Peter DeSantis.
