Alphabet-owned robotics software firm Intrinsic joins Google

Google is adding Intrinsic, an Alphabet-owned robotics software company, to its operations, while Intrinsic remains a distinct entity within Google.

Intrinsic develops AI models for industrial robots and will collaborate with Google DeepMind, using Google’s Gemini AI models and cloud services.

Founded in Alphabet’s X division, Intrinsic became independent in 2021 and acquired Vicarious and several for-profit divisions of Open Robotics.

Its first product, Flowstate, helps make robotics development accessible to non-experts.
