Alphabet unveils $75b AI investment plan for 2025
Alphabet, the parent company of Google, announced plans to invest approximately US$75 billion in capital expenditures in 2025 to enhance its AI infrastructure.
This figure is higher than the US$59.73 billion consensus estimate from Visible Alpha, as disclosed in the company’s earnings report on Feb. 4.
Anat Ashkenazi, Alphabet’s finance chief, said that the spending will primarily focus on technical infrastructure, particularly servers, data centers, and networking.
She indicated that between US$16 billion and US$18 billion of these expenses are anticipated to occur in the first quarter of 2025.
