Alipay+ to integrate with Bahrain’s national QR payment scheme
Ant International and Benefit have signed a partnership to integrate Alipay+ with Bahrain’s national QR payment scheme in 2026.
Benefit is a fintech firm based in Bahrain.
The agreement will allow over 15,000 merchants in Bahrain to accept cross-border digital payments from Alipay+’s partner wallets.
Alipay+ currently connects more than 1.8 billion user accounts across 40 digital payment partners to 150 million merchants in over 100 markets.
The companies also plan to explore outbound payment capabilities, which could let Bahrain-based consumers make digital payments at Alipay+ merchants overseas.
The collaboration aims to develop cross-border payment solutions and exchange technical knowledge to support Bahrain’s digital payment infrastructure.
Alipay+ is already integrated with national QR payment schemes in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Cambodia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
