Alipay, a subsidiary of Ant Group, has launched an AI-powered feature in its app that allows users to gather information from uploaded images.

The “Tanyixia” feature allows users to analyze images of plants, animals, food, or cartoons to access relevant details like menu translations or medication instructions.

By Tuesday morning, over 20,000 users had accessed the tool, showcasing Alipay’s evolution from a payment platform introduced 20 years ago to a multifunctional app for Chinese consumers.
