Philippine Payments Management Inc. (PPMI), the industry body that helps oversee the Philippines’ retail payments system, said on September 1 it had enabled Ant International’s Alipay+ on QR Ph, the country’s national quick-response payment network.

The integration allows international consumers to pay QR Ph merchants with their home e-wallets and banking apps.

Ant International, a Singapore-based fintech company, said merchants can accept those payments through their existing QR Ph codes without changing their setup.

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas data showed digital payments accounted for 64.69% of retail transaction volume in the Philippines in 2025, while transactions on QR Ph rose more than 13x that year.

Alipay+ said it is connected to more than 10 national payment schemes across Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.
