Alibaba’s T-Head unveils details of Zhenwu 810E AI chip
Alibaba’s T-Head unit revealed details of its new AI chip, the Zhenwu 810E, which is designed for both AI training and inference, according to the company’s website.
The chip is a self-developed parallel processing unit supporting 96GB of high bandwidth memory 2 enhanced and offering a bandwidth of 700GB per second, comparable to Nvidia’s H20 GPU.
The Zhenwu 810E has been deployed in Alibaba Cloud’s computing clusters and is used by external clients.
The chip was first publicly shown in a China Central Television report in September 2025, which compared its performance with Nvidia’s H20 and A800 processors during a benchmark at China Unicom’s data center.
The development of the Zhenwu 810E is part of China’s broader effort to create domestic AI hardware, amid US export restrictions on Nvidia’s chips.
Alibaba’s stock remained unchanged at HK$173.30 on January 29.
