Alibaba’s Amap adds 5 components to robot AI stack
Alibaba’s Amap, the Chinese company’s mapping and location-based services platform, said it upgraded its ABot software stack for embodied AI robots on July 22.
The upgrade adds five components for navigation, manipulation, reasoning, memory, and motion control in physical environments.
The release includes the navigation model ABot-N1, manipulation model ABot-M0.5, reasoning system ABot-ER, operating layer ABot-AgentOS, and motion controller ABot-C0.
Amap said ABot-AgentOS supports humanoid, quadruped, and wheeled robots.
Amap said the system posted top results on 17 benchmarks and reported a 92.9% outdoor navigation success rate for ABot-N1.
It also said papers for ABot-N1, ABot-M0.5, ABot-AgentOS, and ABot-C0 are available on arXiv.
Amap released the earlier ABot-M0 and ABot-N0 models in February after creating an embodied intelligence division in January, indicating the latest rollout builds on an existing program.
Its earlier ABot-N0 navigation model was trained on 16.9 million trajectories across 7,802 3D scenes, extending Amap’s mapping and navigation work into embodied navigation.
