Alibaba says AI business is entering commercial phase

Alibaba said its AI business has moved into broader commercialization and that it expects AI revenue to reach 30 billion yuan (US$4.41 billion) in 2026, with AI agents contributing more than half of cloud sales.

Chairman Joe Tsai and CEO Eddie Wu said the company is expanding across chips, cloud infrastructure, and AI models as it pushes deeper into AI services.

Alibaba’s current AI products include the Qwen app for consumers and the Wukong platform for enterprise users.
