Alibaba, JD.com-backed robot maker files for Hong Kong IPO
LimX Dynamics, a Shenzhen-based humanoid robot maker backed by Alibaba and JD.com, has confidentially filed for a Hong Kong initial public offering that could raise several hundred million dollars, according to people familiar with the matter.
The company is working with Citic Securities on the proposed deal, although the size and timing are still under discussion, the people said.
LimX Dynamics and Citic declined to comment.
CFO Jesse Liu also said LimX Dynamics is working toward an IPO but did not provide further details.
Founded in 2022, LimX Dynamics develops robots for homes, manufacturing, research, and commercial venues such as malls.
In July, it raised US$200 million in a pre-IPO round that valued the company at 15 billion yuan (US$2.2 billion).
