Alibaba Cloud said on September 21 that it had signed an AI cooperation agreement with New Unigroup, a China-based technology group focused on semiconductors, information and communications technology, and digital infrastructure.

The companies would deepen their work in intelligent office, industry applications, and overseas expansion.

Alibaba Cloud said the partnership would build on Qoder and Qianwen Office. Qoder is an AI agent platform.

The companies said they aimed to speed up AI adoption in semiconductor chips, ICT digital-intelligent infrastructure, and AI applications.

New Unigroup traces its roots to Tsinghua Unigroup, which completed a court-led debt restructuring in July 2022. The process brought in state-backed investors led by Wise Road Capital and Guangzhou Yuexiu after bond defaults.
