PT Akulaku Finance Indonesia said in Jakarta on June 8 that it had secured a 500 billion rupiah (US$27.5 million) working-capital facility from PT Bank Danamon Indonesia.

The funding to strengthen its financing capacity and support growth in Indonesia’s digital financing market.

Akulaku Finance Indonesia said the funds would support working-capital needs as demand for digital financing rises.

Indonesia’s outstanding buy now, pay later balances reached 37.4 trillion rupiah (US$2.06 billion) in November 2025, while the number of accounts stood at 31.47 million, according to OJK data.

Indonesia’s financial regulator also tightened buy now, pay later rules from December 15, 2025, limiting the product to commercial banks and financing companies. Financing companies must also obtain OJK approval before offering it.

Danamon’s relationship with MUFG predated the facility. The bank became a consolidated subsidiary of MUFG Bank in 2019.
