Airbnb launches grocery delivery pilot with Instacart

Airbnb will pilot a grocery delivery feature with Instacart for select US rentals, allowing guests to order groceries through its app before or during their stay.

The three-month trial, starting January 5, will be available to certain hosts in Phoenix, Orlando, and Los Angeles.

Guests can place Instacart orders up to three weeks before arrival, and participating hosts will receive payments for stocking kitchens with these groceries.

The feature is part of Airbnb’s broader push into offering additional services within its app, which began in May, including options such as meal preparation and fitness training.

Instacart has recently partnered with other platforms, including Grubhub, as it seeks to grow its order volume and compete with rivals like DoorDash and Uber.
