WeRoad, a Milan-based travel startup has raised $58 million in a series C led by Airbnb as it prepares to expand beyond Europe. The company said the round brought its total funding to about $100 million.

WeRoad said the funding would support its US launch through WeMeet, its app for local events.

Founded in 2017, the company organizes group trips by age range, interests, and travel style, and places travelers in pre-trip WhatsApp chats led by group leaders.

WeRoad said it generated 130 million euros (US$151 million) in revenue in 2025.

Airbnb’s investment follows it renewed push into travel experiences and social features.

The company recently introduced Experiences with tools that let travelers interact before events and trips.
