AI ultrasound firm Piur Imaging secures $6m for US growth

Piur Imaging, a medical device company that specializes in AI-driven tomographic 3D ultrasound, has raised €5.6 million (US$6 million) in a growth capital funding round.

The investment was led by Aescuvest Capital Partners, a healthcare-focused investment firm based in Frankfurt, Germany.

Headquartered in Vienna, the company develops technology that converts standard 2D ultrasound systems into 3D imaging platforms.

Its products, including the Piur tUS Infinity and the PIUR tUS inside, are designed to improve diagnostic accuracy by capturing entire organs in a single scan.

Both products have received FDA clearance and CE marking.

The funding will support Piur Imaging’s expansion in the United States, following the establishment of its US subsidiary.

The company also intends to forge partnerships with ultrasound manufacturers and develop additional clinical applications.
