Google Cloud has added AI coding startups Lovable and Windsurf as customers, with both firms selecting it as their main cloud provider.

Lovable and Windsurf, recently acquired by Cognition, are among several AI startups that now use Google Cloud’s infrastructure and Gemini AI models to power their products.

Google said its cloud division reached US$43.2 billion in revenue in 2024, up from US$33.1 billion in 2023.

The company claims nine of the top 10 AI labs and 60% of generative AI startups now use its cloud services.

Windsurf is also deploying Gemini models in projects with Cognition’s AI agent, Devin.

Many startups join Google Cloud through programs offering credits, while dedicated Nvidia GPU access is provided specifically to startups in the Y Combinator accelerator program.
