AI startup HeyGen integrates OpenAI for talking avatars

AI startup HeyGen announced on Wednesday, the integration of its avatar model with OpenAI’s Sora model.

This development aims to create advanced AI-driven talking avatars that can replicate human actors’ movements, expressions, and postures, eliminating the need for traditional reshoots.

The technology will reduce video production costs and timelines, allowing for the creation of extended content without length restrictions.

Founded in Shenzhen and moved to Los Angeles in 2022, HeyGen focuses on generative AI technology for video production efficiency.

The company gained attention in October 2023 for a viral video of singer Taylor Swift speaking Mandarin.
