US AI licensing startup Vermillio nets $16m series A
Vermillio, a Chicago-based platform for AI licensing and protection, raised US$16 million in series A funding co-led by DNS Capital and Sony Music.
The platform features TraceID technology, which monitors online content for intellectual property violations, such as unauthorized use of names, images, and likenesses.
It also automates takedown requests and manages payments for licensed content.
Vermillio charges US$4,000 monthly plus fees, serving clients like Sony Pictures, Sony Music, and WME talent agency.
Founded in 2019 by CEO Dan Neely, Vermillio previously secured US$7.5 million in seed funding.
