AI compute provider CoreWeave opens two UK data centers
CoreWeave, a cloud computing company specializing in AI infrastructure, has formally opened its first two data centers in the UK.
This marks the company’s first expansion outside the US, where it is headquartered.
The first center quietly went live in Crawley back in October 2024, followed by a second in London’s Docklands in December 2024. Both center use Nvidia’s Hopper GPUs for AI workloads.
This expansion is part of a £1 billion (US$1.25 billion) investment in the UK.
Founded in 2017, CoreWeave initially focused on cryptocurrency mining but shifted to AI infrastructure. The company now operates 28 data centers worldwide and plans to add 10 more by 2025.
