Cognition, an AI startup known for its generative coding assistant Devin, is reportedly in discussions to raise over US$300 million in funding.

If finalized, this deal could value the company at US$10 billion, more than doubling its previous valuation of US$4 billion in March 2025.

Founders Fund and Khosla Ventures are involved in the round, though terms are still being finalized and Cognition has not commented.

The talks follow Cognition’s acquisition of rival AI coding startup Windsurf, which was previously linked to a US$2.4 billion Google deal.

Launched in 2023, Cognition’s coding assistant Devin gained viral attention but also skepticism, with clients including Ramp, MongoDB, and Nubank.

The AI coding space is heating up as competitors like Anysphere and Lovable hit major milestones, while tech giants expand their own AI tools.
