AI chipmaker Cerebras seeks partners, excluding Nvidia

Cerebras Systems said on June 3 it wants to work with most suppliers of AI data center components, but not Nvidia.

The AI chipmaker said it plans to use third-party parts for some workloads while relying on its own chips for others.

Cerebras sells CS-3 systems built on its wafer-scale WSE-3 processor, which it said can deliver inference up to 15x faster than leading GPU-based systems.

Chief executive Andrew Feldman said its Amazon and OpenAI agreements were announced before Cerebras went public. The company began trading on Nasdaq on May 14, 2026.

Under a March deal, Amazon Web Services will deploy Cerebras CS-3 systems in its data centers and later offer Cerebras models through Amazon Bedrock alongside Trainium-powered servers.

OpenAI also signed a multi-year agreement in January to deploy 750 megawatts of Cerebras wafer-scale systems for inference, with rollout beginning in 2026.

Feldman also criticized data center builders and operators that moved too fast, saying the industry had failed to be good neighbors to local communities.
