🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ AI data centers are creating unprecedented power infrastructure demands

The surge in demand for Monolithic Power’s products reflects a broader infrastructure challenge that’s reshaping the entire power management industry.

Global electricity consumption by data centers is projected to double to 1,065 TWh by 2030, with AI data centers expected to consume over 40% of total computing power requirements by 20261.

By 2030, data centers are forecast to consume 8% of all power in the U.S., requiring up to $50 billion in utility investments to meet this demand2.

This power requirement creates sustained growth opportunities for power management companies like Monolithic Power, which specializes in the precise power control systems these AI-focused data centers require.

The average power density in data centers is expected to increase from 36 kW per server rack in 2023 to 50 kW by 2027, demonstrating why specialized power management solutions are becoming increasingly critical1.

2️⃣ Memory and storage demand is accelerating alongside AI infrastructure growth

The semiconductor memory market is experiencing robust expansion that parallels the growth Monolithic Power is seeing in its data center business.

The global semiconductor memory market reached $111.62 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow at an 11.6% CAGR to reach $240.66 billion by 20303.
