Mythic AI, a semiconductor startup based in Austin and Palo Alto that develops analog compute-in-memory technology for AI inference, launched a Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on September 28 as it entered India and expanded its engineering and product development work.

The Bengaluru site will support very large-scale integration design, physical design, design-for-test, systems engineering, and applications engineering.

The team will initially contribute to Mythic’s Vanguard AI inference platform.

Mythic said its Bengaluru team is working on front-end design and verification for core analog compute, analog-digital hybrid physical design, and design-for-test techniques to meet automotive compliance requirements.

The company said it expects local headcount to quadruple by Q1 2027 under Manoj Kumar, vice president of Mythic India.

The move comes as India’s semiconductor policy includes a Design Linked Incentive scheme that supports design work and a broader effort to build the ecosystem.

Mythic’s India expansion also follows a 2023 turnaround in which the company raised US$13 million and appointed a new CEO.
