AI automation firm secures $55m from Microsoft-backed G42

Abu Dhabi-based G42 has led a US$55 million series A funding round for AppliedAI, a startup focusing on process automation.

The round also included contributions from Bessemer Venture Partners, Palantir, McKinsey, and Accrete Capital.

According to G42, the funds will be used to expand AppliedAI’s team and enhance its AI tools.

AppliedAI was founded in the UK in 2021 and is now based in Abu Dhabi.

The company provides automation solutions for healthcare, insurance, government, and financial services, with applications like medical billing to claims processing.

G42, which is supported by Mubadala and Microsoft, has previously collaborated with Microsoft on a US$1.5 billion AI initiative.

This initiative includes plans to establish two AI centers in Abu Dhabi aimed at promoting AI technologies and training in the region.
