Adobe sees AI shopping surge 520% in 2025 US holiday season

Online sales in the US holiday shopping season are projected to reach US$253.4 billion in 2025, a 5.3% rise from last year, according to Adobe Analytics.

Adobe predicts generative AI-powered shopping traffic will surge 520% year-on-year, with consumers using AI for research, recommendations, and deal finding.

Adobe, which tracks over 1 trillion visits to retail sites and 100 million SKUs, expects Cyber Monday to remain the top shopping day at US$14.2 billion, up 6.3% year-on-year.

Black Friday sales are forecast to hit US$11.7 billion, up 8.3%, while Thanksgiving Day online spending may reach US$6.4 billion, up 4.9%.

Discounts averaging 28% off, growing use of mobile shopping, and more spending through buy now, pay later services are among the main drivers.
