Adobe launches new AI tool for custom enterprise models

Adobe has launched Adobe AI Foundry, a service that builds custom generative AI models for enterprise clients.

The offering lets companies create AI models trained on their own branding and intellectual property, based on Adobe’s Firefly AI models introduced in 2023 and trained on licensed data.

The Foundry service supports generating text, images, video, and 3D scenes, with pricing based on usage instead of per-seat licenses.

Adobe said businesses have used Firefly models to produce over 25 billion assets, and the new service responds to growing enterprise demand for greater customization in creative AI tools.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Adobe indemnification reshapes AI adoption risk for enterprises

  • Adobe’s IP indemnity for Firefly outputs tackles IP and data risk for enterprises, which legal and compliance teams rank among top barriers to scaled AI deployment 1.
  • It works like insurance, with Adobe covering valid claims if Firefly content infringes third-party rights, but only for outputs within terms and not user modifications 2.
  • Firefly trains on Adobe Stock (Adobe’s stock images and media library), openly licensed content, and public domain materials 2. That lowers legal exposure and supports provenance workflows (systems to track the origin and history of content) 2. Combined with Creative Cloud (Adobe’s suite of creative apps) integration, rollouts accelerate, while Microsoft and Google offer indemnity 1.

Systems integrators and managed service providers see revenue in model governance

  • Adobe Solution Partner Program offers certifications and sandboxes (testing environments) for Experience Cloud (Adobe’s marketing and analytics suite) 3.
  • Systems integrators (firms that implement and connect complex software) earn margin by curating brand archives plus style guides for training, then running model evaluation and guardrail implementation (safety filters and usage policies) 4.
  • Usage-based pricing lifts demand for Financial Operations (FinOps) consulting for cloud and AI cost control. Teams track spend against outcomes like asset volume and time to market 4.
  • Integration links custom models to Digital Asset Management (DAM) and marketing technology (MarTech) stacks, plus Creative Cloud workflows 1. Localization specialists automate campaign variations across languages and formats, aligning with 60% of US B2B (Business-to-Business) marketers using generative AI for content creation 5.
