Accenture to acquire US network intelligence firm Ookla
Accenture has agreed to acquire Ookla, a Seattle-based network intelligence firm, to add Speedtest, Downdetector, Ekahau, and RootMetrics to its data and AI services for enterprises and communications providers.
Accenture said the move will help communications service providers, hyperscalers, and enterprises optimise mission-critical Wi-Fi and 5G networks.
Ookla was founded in 2006 and is a division of Ziff Davis.
The company said it employs about 430 people and records more than 250 million consumer-initiated tests per month, along with controlled drive, walk, and embedded testing.
Accenture described use cases, including fraud prevention, smart-home analytics, and traffic optimisation, but did not disclose financial terms of the deal.
